Former Manchester United winger Luis Nani has had his say on Bruno Fernandes’s instant impact at Old Trafford and revealed why the former Sporting Lisbon midfielder is already a big hit in England.
Nani said that Fernandes focuses a lot on success, and it is the sole reason why he has kept flourishing at United. Nani played alongside Fernandes both at Sporting Lisbon as the pair also lined up to play for their Portuguese national team.
This means that Nani, 34, already knows Fernandes up close given the number of years they have spent playing together side by side. Nani also added that as soon as United completed the signing of Fernandes, he always knew that his compatriot was going to be hugely successful at the club.
Nani was speaking to United Review where he said that although Fernandes was a top player during their playing days together at Sporting, the midfield maestro has put in a lot of work and has improved hugely since they last took to the pitch to play together.
Nani himself was a fans favorite at Manchester United, spending eight years at the club delivering top service before finally leaving in 2015. He added that Fernandes possesses all the characteristics and lacks nothing vital in all the traits necessary to be a real Manchester United player.
Nani continued by saying the Portuguese league is a great league to play in, but not as great as the England Premier League and the fact that Fernandes did it in Portugal and is currently doing it in England is confirmation of how good a player he is.
