West Ham United are the fourth best team in the Premier League at the moment and the best team outside the top three teams namely Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea. Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are almost certain for a top-four spot as the three major title contenders, leaving the other teams to battle for fourth place.

The likes of West Ham United, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City and Manchester United are in a keenly contested battle for the fourth and final slot for Champions League football.

Manchester United faced Arsenal at home on Thursday witha six-point deficit to West Ham United needing a win to get their Champions League chase back on track and they were able to pull off the lead after coming from behind to beat the Gunners 3-2.

Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith-Rowe scored his fifth goal in the Premier League to get his team off to a good start. Recently capped England international Smith-Rowe scored the game’s opener in the 13th minute and the Gunners held on to the advantage until the 44th minute when Bruno Fernandes ghosted into the box to score the equaliser off the assist from much-maligned Brazilian footballer Fred. The goals from Fred and Smith-Rowe ensured that hosts Manchester United and Arsenal finished the first halfwith a goal apiece.

Manchester United talisman Cristiano Ronaldo then scored twice in the second half either side of the Arsenal equaliser from Norwegian international Martin Odegaard to secure a 3-2 win forhis team.

The Red Devils are firmly back in the race for Champions League football with the win over Arsenal. The victory moved Manchester United intoseventh spot and within three points of West Ham United. Manchester United are now one point and two points off Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal respectively. Tottenham Hotspur are in sixth place on the log, while the Gunners are the fifth best team on the league standings.
