UNITED QUARTET OUT OF MILAN CLASH

The last 16 tie between AC Milan and Manchester United is the pick of the fixtures at this stage of the competition in the Europa League this season but the two teams won’t be at full complement. This is due to injuries to key players on both sides. For Manchester United, they would be without four players for the first leg at the San Siro in Italy. Manchester United players like David De Gea, Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba and Juan Manuel Mata. Spanish international shot stopper De Gea is on a short leave after he was given permission by the club to attend to his family in his native Spain. The former Atletico Madrid shot stopper won’t be available for the Milan game. Apart fromDe Gea, Manchester United won’t be withoutRashford who picked up an ankle injury in the last game, the Manchester Derby meeting at the home of city rivals Manchester City. The Three Lions of England player picked up the ankle problem in the second half of the game. The Manchester United Academy graduate provided the assist for the second goal against Manchester City before he went off injured. He provided the assist for Luke Shaw at the start of the second half. Manchester City had earlier conceded in the first half to a Bruno Fernandes penalty after Gabriel Jesus was penalised for a foul on Anthony Martial. The Frenchman was brought down inside the first 30 seconds by Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus. Bruno Fernandes scored the resulting penalty inside two minutes after VAR had checked the incident.


Paul Pogba is yet to recover from a hamstring injury and will miss the Milan game on Thursday night. The Frenchman will miss the game alongside Juan Mata.
