Solskjaer dismisses speculation linking Pogba to Real Madrid

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer claims that Paul Pogba is unaffected by all the transfer speculation that has been linking him with Real Madrid. The Frenchman was heavily linked with a move to Barcelona during the January window but that never materialised. Now, however, the talk about Real Madrid has emerged and it does not seem to go away. The Los Blancos are interested in signing a high profile player after bringing in Zinedine Zidane back as the manager. Madrid have already announced a couple of big-money deals but the need for a galactico is apparent.

The club have been holding talks with Chelsea winger Eden Hazard, but there is also a likelihood of the club making a move for Manchester United’s Paul Pogba. The former Juventus star was linked with a move to Madrid before he joined United in a then-world record move in 2016. Still only 26 years old, it is easy to see why a club like Madrid after the player, who can dominate midfield like no other. There is also the romance of playing under Zinedine Zidane and it appeals to every French player. Yet,Solskjaer says that it is not a very since Pogba has been getting his head down and focusing on United.

The midfielder is already enjoying his best campaign with United by a huge margin after scoring 16 goals in just 41 appearances. “There might be a campaign, there might be press, you never know what there is. But in my talks with Paul he’s always been positive. I don’t see a difference in him when I chat to him. He’s focused on performing and he’s a proud player. He always gives his best. It’s not just about one player. It’s not just about Paul,” said Solskjaer, who has brought the best out of Pogba.
