Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba aiming for a fresh challenge

France international Paul Pogba has acknowledged that he could pursue a fresh challenge away from Manchester United this summer. The midfielder has spent the past three seasons with the Red Devils and the previous one was his best on the individual scale with 16 goals and 11 assists across all competitions.

Speaking to The Guardian, Pogba said that that it could be time to secure a fresh challenge elsewhere amid the speculated interest from Real Madrid, he told: “For me I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great; some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else. I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else. I am thinking of this: to have a new challenge somewhere else.”

Pogba has been regularly associated with the Spanish giants over the past year but the speculation has taken a more serious trend of late with Los Blancos deemed to be considering an approach. The Bernabeu outfit have shown their spending might with more than £250m paid for five players including Eden Hazard, but it appears that may not end any soon.

The Madrid heavyweights have sufficient finances up their sleeve after the hat-trick of European titles between 2015 and 2018 and they seem to be making most of the income this summer with Zinedine Zidane eager to build a squad capable of challenging for honours once more. As such, it comes as no surprise that Pogba has come under their radar and it remains to be seen whether they can sort out an agreement with the Red Devils.

Manchester United have yet to place a price tag on the head of Pogba, but widespread reports indicate that the club could accept a package of around £130m for the former Juventus man.
